Jeannette had a bad day today - fever, headaches, pains and stomach problems, etc. Doctor Jacob is scaling back some of the medicines to let her rest. She said she went very aggressive with treatments in the first few days, because she is worried that the cancer is in the lymph nodes in the chest area. The silver lining is that she thinks the fever is a natural reaction to the cancer cells dying from the chemo she got in Frankfurt. She is sleeping a good portion of the day. The nurses are available all night long as she seems to be more ill at night. We are hoping for a better day tomorrow.
With Jeannette sleeping a lot and the weather so clear and crisp, I went for a long run/hike through the Black Forest. There are marked trails in the woods but I take my cell phone with me in case I get lost so I can call the clinic to send out a rescue party (only joking).
Jeannette sends her love and good wishes to all her wonderful friends and family. Your prayers keep her spirits high.

Dear Jeannette:
ReplyDeleteThere isn't a day passing that I wasn't thinking about you. How are you doing during the day in between rests and treatment? Do the nurses speak English or French with you? Please know that whenever you feel pain from the fever, headache or stomach, all of us are here wishing you peace and joy in ten folds!
Love,
Pei
PS--Your picture with Dr. Ursula is even more beautiful than the previous pictures!
Thanks to everyone for your comments. Jeannette reads them everyday but is not yet up to responding. She has delegated that to me for the time being. Keep the good wishes and prayers coming.
ReplyDeleteAlan, do you take some power naps during the day? Take care!
ReplyDeleteHi All From Jeannette not Alan
ReplyDeleteThe treatment was so aggressive that my body collapsed. But the DR is stopping it now to rebuild and when the chemo sensitivity test comes back we will start chemo and anitbody. I wanted to give up but Alan, my children and you all keep me going, I smile when i read your comments, feels good like putting on a warm cloak in frigid air.. Poor Alan had to watch me and take care of me day in and day out, good thing he takes walks and gets physical therapy,,, I have to remember how lucky I am to have all of you....Gratefully Jeannette W
Jeannette, we are all following your blog and sending our prayers and love.

Jeannette, I attended the OCA WHV Board meeting tonight. First thing on the agenda was that we all stood up and prayed for you. The board were going over the 2010 programs. Xiauchun announced that you'll be chairing the 2010 DAA Gala and I'll be helping you. We all need you. Since you already set the date and reserved the place so we'll have plenty of time to work on it. Get well and we'll have fun.

Auntie Frances
Jeannette,
ReplyDeleteI'm sending you hugs and prayers. When you feel ill or tired - try to visualize yourself kick boxing those cancer cells out of your body. I am cheering you on! Keep the faith & find the strength that I know resides deep inside you. You are one of the strongest people I know. Find something - anything to smile about today. Alan that is your job today - please make Jeannette smile or laugh at least once! If I were there I'd do cartwheels across the floor for her - if it would make her smile!
Love,
Barbara
Dear Jeannette,
ReplyDeleteI have been following your progress and thank Alan for providing us with such timely updates. I want to let you know that all your friends in OCA-WHV board stood in silence today before the board meeting, sending the best wishes and prayers from each of us to you. I have no doubt that you have felt them. We know that you will be there with us soon.
Love, Xiaochun
Jeannette, I'm so happy that you felt stronger that you could write us back yourself!!!! That was the happiest moment of my day today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want you to try something for me-it's mind over matter-whenever you feel pain, imagine taking all the pain in your body and moving it to one spot. Start with your head first, take all the pain in your body and move it your head, then take a deep breath and release the pain from your head, then go to another part of your body and repeat the above until you end with your toes. I will do it tonight too so when I do it, I will imagine you doing it with me. Alan, please try it with Jeannette too. Jeannette, keep fighting, you've made it through five days now. I'm with you in spirit every step of the way. I can't wait to see you when you come back. With love and admiration always, Liz
ReplyDeleteJeanette and Alan, I am sorry it has taken me so long to comment, but I felt so much relief when I saw your comments today. Alan there is a halo waiting for you somewhere and Jeanette, I know of no one that has as much love and support as you do. Can't wait for your healthy return.
